“As a 20+ year Captain with a 500 ton Master’s License, I have stayed at marinas throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, the Eastern Seaboard, all along the Gulf Coast of Florida and the Mediterranean Sea. Jacksonville is now my home and I am the Captain of a locally-owned yacht. We kept the yacht at the Ortega Landing Marina while the permanent dock was being built. My time spent at Ortega Landing was outstanding. The staff is a great representation of the facility. Their ‘can do’ attitude and quick response time is a rarely found treat. They make a point to ask how my trip went, share sea stories and I can truly say members of the staff have become my friends. The property is truly a romantic setting including a pool, hot tub and the very comfortable clubhouse. It is truly a relaxing place when you return to the dock. Whatever my mood is when I show up at Ortega Landing, everything seems to melt into a peaceful happiness when I arrive. I highly recommend this marina for anyone looking for a short-term or long-term marina stay.”

“You really need to check out this marina if you are in the area!!! Facilities are as good as you can find in N. E. Florida. Staff is great and location is a good “bad weather hideout,” and you can walk to stores, banks and restaurants. Ortega Landing is right in the middle of Jacksonville’s boating community here. A FIRST CLASS MARINA!”

“After 15 years of fishing, logging 17,000 hours throughout the Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and San Salvador, it was nice to come home to Jacksonville. I had an enjoyable stay at Ortega Landing. The facility is very nice and the staff is very professional and helpful. I would recommend the marina to anyone wanting a clean, safe marina.”
Captain Greg Fish, USCG Six Passenger (5 years), Savannah Summer, 60’ Jim Smith SF
“We want to whole-heartedly agree that Ortega Landing Marina is a wonderful facility. We are new to cruising and are so glad that we decided to depart the ICW to come here for a few days. The staff is very helpful, and the marina is gated giving a sense of security with floating docks and wonderful amenities such as pool, hot tub and laundry facilities. The area is very pleasant with convenient shopping center and restaurants within walking distance. We definitely would recommend any cruisers wanting to travel up St. Johns River to come and stay at The Marina at Ortega Landing won’t be disappointed.”
Paul and Claudia Peeples, The Peeples Choice, 46′ Cheoy Lee Trawler
“Ortega Landing has been a pleasant surprise; this quality of a facility is well overdue for Jacksonville. The management and crew have been great. We have plenty of electricity, pump-out at the slip and have made it through 60-70 mph winds with no problems or concerns!”
Captain Mike Butler, USCG 100 ton Master (27 years), Cuervos, 55’ Bertram SF
“We’ve been very impressed with The Marina at Ortega Landing in Jacksonville FL. It is up the Saint Johns about 25 mi from the ICW crossing, but worth the trip. Great location, friendly staff and groceries, West Marine and many other shops/restaurants within walking distance.”
